Korogard earns GREENGUARD® Certification!

FAIRLAWN, Ohio—Korogard® sheets have been awarded GREENGUARD® Certification and GREENGUARD Children & SchoolsSM Certification, another milestone in our mission to offer environmentally friendly products!

Both GREENGUARD® Certifications signify that Korogard wallcovering is in compliance with the stringent emission guidelines set by the GREENGUARD Environmental Institute (GEI). More specifically, the new certification confirms that the Korogard sheet is a low-emitting product and reduces the impact on indoor air quality. Poor indoor air quality can negatively impact the quality of life for building occupants and can often trigger respiratory problems such as asthma. By choosing low-emitting products, such as Korogard, building owners can significantly reduce the level of containments in the air. This certification is a testament to RJF International’s corporate commitment to maintaining a high level of quality while respecting the impact on public health.

The new certification means Korogard sheet can contribute to a building achieving LEED® credits, specifically Korogard sheets are eligible for the Environmental Quality Credit 4 in the Schools and Retail categories.

The GREENGUARD® Environmental Institute is an independent, non-profit organization that oversees the GREENGUARD Certification Program, including the establishment of acceptable standards for indoor products and testing protocols. The Institute's goal is to improve public health and quality of life by helping manufacturers build better and safer products. The GREENGUARD Certification Program is the only independent testing program for low-emitting products.

The GREENGUARD Environmental Institute (GEI) has established performance based standards to define goods with low chemical and particle emissions for use indoors, primarily building materials, interior furnishings, furniture, cleaning and maintenance products, electronic equipment, and personal care products. The standard establishes certification procedures including test methods, allowable emissions levels, product sample collection and handling, testing type and frequency, and program application processes and acceptance.
